Background
Hawo
Ibrahim, 38-year-old mother, and her 10 children arrived in
the USA in late September of 2005.
April 2008 Update
IThe
Ali family, St. Monica’s adopted family from Somali,
is moving to Edmond, the end of May. Their new address will
be 2201 Marshall Drive.
Nurto Ali,
oldest daughter, has earned her driver’s license and
purchased a car with money she saved. She is studying to
pass her GED and wants to begin nurses training soon.
Hawo Ibrahim, mother of the family, is enrolled in English
as a second language class and is beginning to communicate
in English.
Oldest son, Mohammed, 18, will be a senior this fall. He
works after school and on weekends.
Son, Hassa,17, will be a junior, and is working on
weekends.
The Ali’s new home has a large enclosed back yard,
and the Social Ministries Committee would like to install
swings, a sand box, etc., for the younger children. The
older children would like to have a basketball goal. The
committee would also like to give them outdoor chairs and a
picnic table. Anyone who can help with the family’s
job search or locate outdoor play equipment and furniture,
please call Gayle Stanfill at 348-3816.
