What We Do
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of St. Monica’s offers assistance in multiple ways to those in need on a person-to-person basis. When a client calls our help line, one of our members will call them back and discuss the basics of their needs. Many times, we can help the client with referrals to the appropriate social services. After that initial contact, we will set up a home visit. The home visit is one of the many things that differentiates our organization from other social organizations. A pair of our members will visit the client’s home and discuss their problems and ways to help. This personalized involvement makes the work of the Society unique. After our meeting with the client, our members will discuss how best to aid this client. This aid may take the form of intervention, consultation, or often through direct dollar or in-kind service. An essential part of the Society's work is to provide help while conscientiously maintaining the confidentiality and dignity of those who are served.

Our Mission Statement
Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering, in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul.

Members, known as Vincentians, are united in an international society of charity by their spirit of poverty, humility, and sharing, which is nourished by prayer and reflection, mutually supportive gatherings and adherence to a basic Rule.

Organized locally, Vincentians witness God’s love by embracing all works of charity and justice. The Society collaborates with other people of good will in relieving need and addressing its causes, making no distinction in those served, because in them Vincentians see the face of Christ.

Are you interested in becoming a Vincentian?
Becoming a Vincentian is a great way to follow in footsteps of Jesus. We meet twice a month as a group, while regularly doing home visits. Join us today and personally make a difference in someone’s life. Call our phone line for more information.
